Lawnmower owned by Hilda Ogden (Coronation Street)

LAWNMOWERS OF THE RICH & FAMOUS

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP OUR APPEAL?

The Museum is run on a very low budget and to increase the number of people coming to the Museum, we have created a new popular exhibition named:

"LAWNMOWERS OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS".

To extend the appeal of British garden engineering heritage (which is the best in the world) to everyone, please would you contribute an old discarded Lawnmower or any garden tool in any condition from you that will attract many more people to the Museum. Your donation will be restored to its former glory and placed on view within the new exhibition.

If you are unable to help us in our quest at the moment, please mention this to another famous celebrity like yourself, and tell them about the Museum’s attempt to save our British Heritage, and ask them to save a Lawnmower today.

This unique museum is popular with visitors from abroad, particularly from the USA, Europe and Japan. They are impressed with the quality of Workmanship (many countries have no gardening history). Your donation will have contributed to the worthy cause of keeping British Engineering History alive. It houses a collection of over 200 restored pristine exhibits, (part of 600) originally destined for the scrap yard built up over 40 years. It is now a tribute to the British garden machinery industry, which has developed over the past 200 years. The collection dates from the Industrial revolution in 1799 to the present day.

Please visit the Museum when you are next in Southport, where you would be made most welcome. The Curator Brian Radam would be honoured to give you a guided tour.
